With its unique blend of serial and IP
communications, embedded I/O, and embedded applications, the COM1000 is
being used all over the world for solving many of today's M2M
deployment challenges.
It's been awarded the prestigious Gold Level M2M Value Chain Award in
2005, and was most recently recognized by the editors of M2M Magazine
as one of the M2M TOP100 for 2006.
"The number of success stories where the COM1000 has helped system
integrators and application providers solve implementation challenges
grows every single day", states Bill Farley, VP of Sales for Simple Com
Tools, LLC of Tampa, Florida.
“We are meeting the needs of companies by helping them get more things
done with less resouces. Most comapnies have several projects running
in parallel, and sometimes there's just not enough time, money, or
personnel to get everything completed. So when it comes to M2M
applications, they need technology that’s cost-effective, easy to
understand, and effortless to deploy. That’s where we can help. That's
our mission - that's our value proposition - and that's our customer.”
The COM1000 has
a Long List of Features usable in both vehicle and SCADA/telemetry
applications
Here are just a few of the things that the COM1000 has to offer:

XML1000
provides new 'open' way to obtain I/O info.
Provides
20 points of I/O served up in industry-standard XML format
The XML1000 Serial I/O Server
is the newest member of the Simple Com Tools M2M hardware family. A
serial based I/O server, the XML1000 is a hardware appliance that
provides data collection control using XML as the native communications
protocol.
The XML1000 Serial I/O Server is the newest member of the Simple Com
Tools M2M hardware family. A serial based I/O server, the XML1000 is a
hardware appliance that provides data collection control using XML as
the native communications protocol.
The XML1000 is truly unique in both physical design and feature set.
With 20 points of I/O available in (6) different configurations, the
XML1000 is flexible enough to fit into any number of SCADA, Telemetry
or M2M projects. Packaged in a rugged, compact enclosure of 18 GA
cold-rolled steel, the XML1000 is also ready for use in some of the
most challenging environments.
Monitoring the XML100 couldn't be easier. Communicate it serially to
any PC, RTU, PLC, or PAC; attach id directly to your corporate LAN; or
simply connect it to directly any wireless data or cellular modem. The
XML1000 provides you with unmatched communications versatility.
Built specifically to serve the M2M market – this low-cost,
standards-based, open-protocol hardware appliance is right product at
the price you've been waiting for. Standards based protocol interface,
versatile networking and communications options, flexible I/O
configuration, and a compelling price all make the XML1000 truly a
leader today's M2M hardware offerings.
Why consider XML
for I/O collection?
Here are just a few reasons why you should consider an XML based
hardware appliance.
Simple to Understand:
XML is plain text and easily read. Take a digital input for example.
It’s either a 1 or 0, right?
Here’s what a few digital inputs would look like in XML:
<D1>1</D1>
<D2>0</D2>
<D3>1</D3>
It doesn't get much easier than that!
Open Standards
XML has quite a few benefits when it comes to deployment in M2M
applications. First, XML is a standard, simple, self-describing way of
presenting data. That means the content can be processed with
relatively little development effort, and exchanged across diverse
hardware, operating systems, and applications and can be used with a
wide range of development tools and utilities.
Vendor Neutrality
XML is vendor neutral, which means by using XML in communications
protocols, and managing their data in XML formats, companies can
maximize the lifetime of their investment and enjoy flexibility in the
choices they will be able to make in future products and solutions.
Network and Transport Agnostic
XML is flexible enough to travel over any network. The XML1000 Serial
I/O server demonstrates this by allowing for communicating with over
serial links, leased-lines, dialup, or via TCP/IP using IP-to-Ethernet
device servers or wireless data modems.
Will the XML1000
work with your application?
More and more applications are providing support for XML for exchanging
data between systems. Building in support for using XML as a means of
collecting data direct from devices is a natural next step. If your
application developer or provider is already using XML, then
integrating the XML is a snap.
If you need more help on how to get things integrated or just basic
info on the benefits of using XML to collect data, we’ll be glad to
help. Just contact our support team at support@simplecomtools.com

PRC1000
provides device control with low power consumption
Low
power logic and flexibility makes it perfect for remote applications.
Another new member to the SCT product family is
the the PRC1000 - Programmable Relay Controller. Designed specifically
for the unique needs of remote monitoring system, the PRC1000 provides
both timed and command line control of two individual devices or
circuits.
With each relay interface having individually configurable schedules
and serial data stream triggers, the PRC1000 provides the autonomy and
flexibility needed for unique remote power management requirements.
The automated and manual power control for two individual electronic
devices makes it perfect for a number of applications, including SCADA
and telemetry, security system control, LAN/WAN management, equipment
reboot, wireless network management, solar system control, and many
more.
Here are some examples of how the PRC1000 can be used:
Sample Scheduler
Applications
Scheduled power-up
for remote data loggers or modems
Subterranean
equipment control
Timed reboot of
remote equipment
Hourly, daily or
weekly, power-up of generators or pumps
Monthly scheduled
contact closure to test alarm systems
Power-optimization
for solar systems
Sample
On-demand Applications
User-initiated
reboot of telecom equipment
Timed reboot of
remote equipment
Hourly, daily or
weekly, power-up of generators or pumps
Monthly scheduled
contact closure to test alarm systems
Power-optimization
for solar systems
Especially
Designed for Low Power Applications
Designed specifically for reducing the power consumption of remote
power systems, the PRC1000 uses less power than any other programmable
relay controller available on the market. By utilizing latching relays
and specially designed micro-power logic, the PRC1000 helps reduce the
average power consumption of any remote power or charging system. With
a typical draw of less than 625uA (microAmps), and a sleeping power
draw of less than 25uA, the PRC1000 can both reduce the size
photovoltaic panel requirements and lengthen the battery life of any
solar installation.
